Yeah, all that super soldier shyt was added at the last minute. Basically anything past the episode you're talking about, with the Syndicate being burned, they had to make up as they went along.

Season 6 would've been the last season. That's why, like you said the season finale "Biogenesis", and then the first two episodes of 7 "The 6th Extinction" and "Amor Fati" were a totally different angle for the myth stuff.

Although honestly all 3 of those episodes were dope as fukk. The problem is they couldn't freestyle for 3 seasons. If 7 was the last they might've been able to keep it up and close it out strong.

As far as the finale, I thought it was awful. But it is what it is, like you said it's virtually impossible to end something after 200+ episodes and 9 seasons. By season 9 I was just watching it out of loyalty more than anything.

Side note, "X-Files" being stretched out and ending poorly is why Vince Gilligan ended "Breaking Bad" after 5 seasons. He was a writer on "X-Files" for 7 seasons and didn't want "BB" to go out like that.

x-files could have maintained the quality for 3--4 seasons had Duchovny not leave :manny:

Nah, it was going to fall off either way. You can't write a show for 6 seasons, wrap up damn near every major plot line....then make up 3 more seasons on the fly. It's just not possible. Duchovny leaving didn't help things but that wasn't a major problem. Them getting renewed for 60+ episodes with no plan is what killed it.

are u a first time viewer? as in u nvr watched one single episode when it was on? if not why the hell u responding to me? :dahell:.....for me (someone who nvr watched it) it hasnt aged well at all. shyt look like a low budget direct to video sequel of a low budget cult classic or some shyt :scust:

It's aged gracefully. A top 10 TV show of all time.

And nah, I've seen the all 9 seasons about 3 or 4 times each. It's just been a while.

You can lie all you want, it'll only help you sleep at night better. Objectively X-Files is a masterpiece.

This nikka expects this shyt to have the special effects of 'AVATAR.' :heh:

Pathetic self-projection on your part. Just because it doesn't have the same visual effect of modern movies/shows doesn't mean it hasn't aged properly. You fukkin brick head.

Classic show. Been rewatching random episodes. Mostly skipping the myth episodes, I prefer the self contained episode format.

The first movie was dope too.

I dont know what it is about this show, its cheesy but fantastic. Season 6 and 7 are underrated. I never bothered with 8 and 9 but I might get into them. What about Seasons 10 and 11? Worth watching?
