Its a good game carried by the story.
However, the gameplay is lacking. The first bioshock is superior in every way.
I cant quite put my finger on whats lacking. The atmosphere, guns, plasmids, enemies...none of its quite right to me.
Every aspect of Bioshock's gameplay was integral to the theme and setting of the story.
Plasmids were an important part of the Bioshock universe, story and gameplay wise. Vigors are just...there because Bioshock needs to have powers.
All the crazy enemies in Bioshock were representations of the downfall of Rapture and made sense when you realize that these guys pretty much had to destroy their insanity and deform their body to survive in such a ravaged place. In Infinite, you have a guy who turns into Crows...because...it's cool.
Even the scavenging aspect fits into the torn down aesthetic of Bioshock. You scavenged in trash cans, barrels, and so forth because Rapture was torn down and supplies were in short supply.
In Columbia, you're just eating out of trash cans and stuff...because it's a Bioshock mechanic.
