Alot of people dont understand the stress of being mixed. Most mixed people have to "pick" a side. You either this or that, our peers dont let people be 'both". When thats the way it should be. A half black and half white person should be able to feel comfortable amongnst both races. Not forced to choose one and stick with it for the rest of their life.

I dont see why you cant feel comfortable with both sides. You just cant be both, that would make you more than a person.

It's much harder than that breh, and to be honest I don't think that anyone who isn't mixed can fully understand it. You're not fully white, nor fully black, and even mixed persons are extremely different depending on how they grew up and shyt. Hell, as a mixed person you're different from you're mother and your father, as well as probably most of your cousins and relatives. So that "safe space" that is your family doesn't even exist. I still have my father (black) talking about "those white people", seemingly forgetting my mother (his wife) was white and that I'm half-white myself. It's really hard to put into words, but trust me, it can get REALLY fukked up.

By some of the post in here you would think that we act like some Dominicans. Some of them go as far as saying that they don't have any African ancestry and most of them are ashamed of their African ancestry. Most of us mixed people have no problem with our black ancestry. We just want to be able to identify with both sides.

I get what your saying, kind of but we don't live in a perfect world and Racism/exclusion is pretty much a huge part of white society. So being accepted by whites is something that will never happen, not for the next hundred years at least.

I've got 5 cousins that are halfMexican, half-black. I think all of them recognize themselves as half Mexican but associate a lot more with black people.

The youngest one didn't know her mom was Mexican and she was half until she was 9 or 10. :laff:

When she found out her face was like :dwillhuh:

how does a child not know her mother is Mexican?

I bet all of them claim black when trying to get in to college.

Your implying that they claim blackness when it's convenient to them. Why should Blacks want those types of people in their group?

White people. Black people have accepted them for years. White people just started tolerating them.

We tolerating them as well. The only difference is Blacks had no power and had an inferiority complex so we were proud to have mixed race/bi-racial people who claimed to be black represent us...It made us feel good but in retrospect it just perpetuated the racial ladder and white supremacy.

many purer blacks are aware of the preferential treatment of mixed blacks, and as a result have an understandably innate distrust for those of that race. As evidenced in the-coli many mixed blacks suffer from a white/light supremacist mentality.

Distrust of mixed race/bi-racial people (as long as they are in our midst) is legitimate. They can switch up at anytime. This is what makes them dangerous...they are dangerous because they benefit from white supremacy as they are lighter skinned.

racism suffered by mixed blacks is no where close to the level to that suffered by purer blacks. Mixed blacks are more accepted in this society and receive a much better overall treatment then non mixed blacks. That doesn't mean cacs still don't consider them nikkaz. Just not as bad as the darker nikkaz... the same as how many coli posters feel about the contrast of beauty between dark and light skinned black women :manny:

true words!

Many Black people don't like it when issues such as intra-racism and colorism are brought out. They prefer everyone just shut up and continue blaming the white man for things we do to each other.

You can be both, because that's what we are. The world is just not black or white.

What I think he was trying to say was that you shouldn't claim to be both. You know how some bi-racial people say "they are getting the best of both worlds" (I remember Alicia Keys saying that on 106&park when she first came out :gag:). It's insulting and detrimental to the oppressed black race when you do that. You should be something new. Bi-racial people should have their own category, their own race. Me personally, I'm not like some of these other scared black people who fear it's gonna take a significant % of members from our existing group...I don't care because I am not a quantity over quality guy anyways.

Yeah, but what I'm saying is that racism/exclusion can come (and does come, in my experience) from BOTH sides. True, we as mixed persons are generally more accepted by blacks, but as I said before I have experienced rejection from both sides: by whites because, in their eyes, I'm "Black" and by blacks because, in their eyes I'm "White" or "not Black enough". And TBH, white people have been "trained" for many years to tolerance and shyt with campaigns and whatnot (and we all know that was/is WELL NEEDED) whereas the same hasn't really happened with Black/colored persons. You still have people thinking that Blacks cannot be racist, and that's the biggest bs I've ever heard. My point was that racism and exclusion can come from both sides, and it's dishonest to say that it only comes from whites.

(Bear in mind that all I'm saying is coming from my experience of living in Africa and Europe, I'm well aware that the situation may be different in the US).

So many c00ns in this thread... :flabbynsick:

When the inevitable race war launches these mulattos/quadroons/octaroons gonna be runnin around with the :dwillhuh::noah: faces

Talib Kweli

I know a girl with a name as beautiful as the rain
Her face is the same but she suffers an unusual pain
Seems she only deals with losers who be usin' them games
Chasin' the real brothers away like she confused in the brain
She tried to get it where she fit in
on that American Dream mission paid tuition
For that receipt to find out her history was missing and started flippin
Seeing the world through very different eyes
People askin' her what she'll do when it comes time to chose sides
Yo, her skin is yellow, it's like her face is blond word is bond
And her hair is long and straight just like sleeping beauty
See, she truly feels like she belong in 2 worlds
And that she can't relate to other girls
Her father was rich and white still livin' with his wife
But he forced himself on her mother late one night
They call it rape that's right and now she take flight
Through life with hate and spite inside her mind
That keep her up to the break of light a lot of times
I gotta find myself, I gotta find myself, I gotta find myself
She had to remind herself
They called her Safronia the unwanted seed
Blood still blue in her vein and still red when she bleeds

?????

The title of this video is fukking offensive. Without a doubt there is no such thing as a "PURE _________" nowadays since white people done fukked up everywhere and raped and mixed in with black indigenous peoples.

Whether you want to believe it or not, we are ALL BLACK as in we all share the common ancestors from Alkebulan. I don't care what nationality you are, black people originated there. America,Europe, west indies, china black people were ALL there at one time.
