Good sir, I too find it very odd and slightly perturbing that the bi-racial beings put so much assertion into not being considered African-American. Why do they not protest to being known as Caucasian? Well, more than likely because society recognizes them as black. It is very odd to say "I'm not black damn it", when you are surely half, just half white as well. The presence of one race does not negate the other, from a gentleman's understanding.

Any African-American gentleman or lady who cannot see that they are trying to downplay the positivity of being African-American must be a slightly confused individual themselves.

I have no problem w/ mixed people claiming to be mixed race. There are various degrees to the purity of blackness, those who are darker being closer to the original black race/ original human race. The problem is, when you look at it from that perspective many see the beauty in pure blackness, and the shame that comes knowing they have been thoroughly diluted.
