Bird Brehs: Atlanta Falcons Podcast

I know this is kinda off topic, but I could never see Charlotte being Atlanta...Charlotte's a nice city, but I just don't see them ever getting to the size of an Atlanta or being a city like Atlanta. Charlotte's wealth has been built off NASCAR and banking, ATL is the black Mecca & built off Coca Cola & being a hub city (railroads, Hartsfield, highways), I've just never seen us as being similar types of cities. But staying in Charlotte is cool, I've stayed in Uptown off Tryon and the Southpark area when I was in town for CIAA. Been at that Greyhound down the street from BOA Stadium toocool, cool city tho
You right. Charlotte and Atlanta really aren't alike. Them nikkas to me really more like some mid Atlantic/ VA cats than they are like us. I was really saying that in terms of breh saying they didnt want the headaches. Cuz they coming as sure as night follows day. This ain't a dig at Charlotte at all but they about 10-20 years from a disaster on traffic. Too many people moving there and they not taking transit serious. Just like Atlanta poo poo'd that shyt off back in the day. And crime bout to be an issue in the future too. Charlotte got a lot of smart educated Blacks getting money. But they also got alot of poor and uneducated nikkas too. And they don't have the shyt like we got back home to help the cats who didn't go or finish college but still trying to make a good living. You can go work at the airport, get a job from somebody you know or do your own thing in the A and be good if you work hard. I'm not sure if they have that there and when the light clicks on on with them types of nikkas and they get tired of being broke it'll be ugly. Like how the youngins from the hood go uptown and hit licks in Buckhead and Midtown cuz they wanna get money to stunt. It's not there yet in CLT but when cats from Hidden Valley and Beatties Ford start going down to Myers Park and South Park robbing white folks it'll be a huge problem.
Finally got time to listen to this over my Lunch break. All I can say is :wowpanthers:.

And last but not least to the anti-panther nemesis, Cam hater #1 @AVXL . Breh just earned hella respect from me. Son left all that vigor and hate behind. He had actual analysis and gave credit where credit was due. He gave Killa props even beyond the stats. His contribution is what I was anticipating the most and son didn't disappoint. Respect

I don't see Charlotte trying to become Atlanta as a bad thing. Because I've been a Charlottean all my life, I've seen the progression of the city over the last 10 years. I think Charlotte is definitely on the brink of becoming a major market like ATL. Population is increasing, and the emphasis the city is placing on downtown lifestyle is inviting young professionals. I can't speak much on Atlanta b/c I don't live there but I get that same type of vibe from Atlanta. A melting pot culture and a hub for young professionals. Eventually I plan on moving to ATL, because I'm in IT and the industry is thriving in Atlanta.

I was really worried about sounding like a buffoon, and there were some questions the brehs asked I went blank for a few seconds because I wasn't sure about how to answer them. @Motife43 did a great job editing and made me sound a lot better than I thought did. @AVXL said things I was taken aback by because I wasn't expecting that from him. Kind of reminded me when I took some improv classes, just to listen first and then react because it is THEIR show and it's Falcons centered, so it's best not to interject some topics or issues that would of been nonsensical.Finally got time to listen to this over my Lunch break. Another thing yall didn't mention is the way the 96 Olympics accelerated the growth of the city. Infrastructure, financially, and exposure wise it'd be hard to say the city would be the place it is now without the Olympics.
AV is a level headed cat, the shyt yall read from him here is magnified way too much and unfairly IMO. That man has Saints, Panthers, and even Falcons brehs gettin at him, so of course he's seen as the "cac," irrational, and the diabolical hater. What you hear on our show is how he really is lol
You did a great job and were natural in the conversation and back and forth with us. It took all of us a few weeks to even figure out how we would mesh and not step over each other. So for you to come in and connect was perfect.

Also kudos to the Dela track you used on the Divisional episode.
Man, I associate Dela with NC. I got up on his music and Changes of Atmosphere my freshman year at Central in fall 2008. I ran that eLZhi snippet from Atmosphere Airline 2 INTO THE GROUND before the US version of CHA dropped
I would love to, somebody hit us up on the Bird Brehs twitter a while back asking if we would do a Hawks one. But at this point I can't dedicate the time and attention to a Hawks podcast, and following the 2-3 games a week like I want to.
I might just do a special Hawks episode on my podcast and get you and a few of the other brehs so we can expound on some of our discussion in the season thread.
