Bird never made more than 98 3ptrs in a season, Curry made 102 3ptrs in first 20 games this season

There's some truth to this, and is typically not acknowledged by folk who can't see how better the game is today. But Bird's skillset would translate over to ANY era. It you took Larry right outta his period and placed him in this era, it would probably take him a season to acclimate to today's league, but he would still be dominant.

there's no truth to it because you can't just cut a guy out of his era and insert him into another one. one of the things better about this era is technology, gameplanning, statistics, training methods, etc. all of this would make bird into a SUPERIOR player than he was as he would be able to take advantage of it just like any every other player has.

So career averages of 24 10 and 6 mean nothing to you:dwillhuh:
Pace of the 80's is important context, but he was a complete player.

Bird has always been a bit overrated, ill admit I've never really seen him play, but he benefited from the rivalry with the Lakers more than anything

No chance. His muscle definition was nowhere near the level of today's players, he would be getting washed nightly
So you're saying modern day Larry Bird would not be utilizing modern day training, supplements, or techniques? Why would he not do any of that stuff.. Look at Durant, dude couldn't even bench 200 coming out of high school and he still skinny. Look at Marotic.. He is doing damage and dude could only dream of having Birds vision and understanding of the game. Larry would be similar to Dirk but with ridiculous passing skills and Pg vision.

Curry has almost as many 3 point attempts as Kawhi has 2 point attempts.

Larry Bird isnt losing out on a Finals MVP in his sixth season to Andre Iguodala.
Pretty sure Ig flourished bc of Steph getting so much attention.

Didn't Curry avg like 26ppg in the Finals? And y'all act like he was scrub status.

What did Bird avg in his first Finals?
"81.5 percent of Iguodala’s scores versus Cleveland were assisted. The nearest defender on all but nine of his 37 made field goals was Mozgov, Thompson or 34-year-old James Jones."

:stopitslime:So bird wasn't gettin any attention? Fukk outta here, Steph has a very limited skill set and can be easily taken out of a game. You think other coaches were like yeah lets see what Bird, Magic, Jordan, Kobe or other great players would do and not stick someone to remove them from play? Fact is Curry is very very good, but if someone is on him he will vanish just like in the Finals or just like against the Bucks where he was pretty anonymous.
