"Philadelphia MC Gillie Da Kid was shot three times last Wednesday (June 14) in the northern section of his native city in what is suspected to have been an attempt on his life. According to a statement from his lawyer, an unknown assailant began firing at the rapper as he attempted to get into his vehicle, striking him three times, once in the leg and twice in one arm. He was treated at Philadelphia’s Einstein Hospital and released later the same night. At press time, the Philadelphia Police Department had no suspects, reportedly due to the rapper’s lack of cooperation with authorities in the investigation.
