Biz Markie's 1st album (Goin Off) is probably the most underrated classic of all time

i never said " anybody " was claming he was a great lyricist.

im just saying then how is it a classic cause it damm sure ain't because of the lyrics.
its a classic .

album was mad entertaining wit the humor...the beats was bangin...rhymes and hooks was catchy. Big Daddy Kane wrote alot of it and Marly Marl did the beats...

even had Biggie biting lines from the album

"Ha ha ha ha ha. Check out this bizarre
rapping style used by me The B.I.Z."

That was my album. Even Nas sampled from that album to use his name "NAS!!" on a hook.

Kane wrote the entire first side of that album.

I met my ex wife at Albee Square Mall. :to:

This is not a debate... Goin' Off is a certified hip-hop classic. It's not a matter of opinion. That's like someone saying "Illmatic is a classic to you but not to me."
it had classic records on it but its not that classic as a whole. aside from a few joints, they basically gathered up all the singles they had and crammed them together

It's because he made good SONGS. I don't care how nice you are on the mic, if you can't make songs, see ya.

Biz's second album was even more banging to me. The samples he had on there was TOUGH.

I remember seeing the Juice crew perform at the Apollo, and Biz had a big nose with a booger hanging out of it for his performance!. That show(the whole juice crew)was the best hip hop show I ever seen, next to dre or kanye
