Another thing I want to add is that as mentioned earlier, the food can be hit or miss. My mom cooks adobo, pancit, and egg rolls (lumpia), but it tastes better than that of her friends. A good deal of it is because she customizes it a bit. Add some stuff here and there, change the ingredients. From there, all I can say is that if you have a Filipino girl that cooks Filipino food for you, to have her experiment with the ingredients. It may take some trial and error, but eventually she may hit the jackpot.

I would have to disagree about the food unless you're talking local food, however I've found some to be quite good like sinigang or beef stew. im a dark meat guy

but since I live pretty much in makati, I can get american food. I mean we have TGIF, wendys, red lobster, taco bell, multiple italian, middle eastern and indian restaurants. thats why I said the food is good. because you can get the same shyt as in america.

now if we're talking just pure local......"meh" its not bad......is it my fav? nah. I eat american and mexican food almost every day. in fact I have a pizza from papa johns on its way here right now

Seems like The Philippines is essentially the England of Asia when it comes to food. An abundance of really good ethnic cuisines and American dining options but the local food is with that ‘meh to trash’ range
