He directly crippled Black America with his welfare reform, which led to the destablization of the black family unit and made blacks dependent on the government handouts. He was correct about blacks voting democrat, though. Fifty years later, blacks are still voting democrat at a 90% rate.

He also bit off more than he could chew and got his ass handed to him the Vietnam War.

I really don't know. It wouldn't surprise me if he did. As in all politics, part of me believes that he was pandering and also that it's smoke and mirrors and ulterior motives. You have to remember that Southern Democrats were well represented in Congress from the 1930s to the 1960s and they had a lot of clout. It was difficult to get nearly anything done without their approval, so you had to "play the part" for those south of the Mason Dixon Line to play ball with you in those days. Unlike JFK who was from Mass., it helped that LBJ was from Texas, so I think they went a little easier on him because they felt he understood them (or so they thought). If there's anything I've learned, it's that you can be a morally questionable or morally corrupt individual and still contribute and achieve great things that benefit all of humankind.

He was a cac of his times. I think he spoke like that partially to hoodwink the racist dixiecacs in the south.

I just read this:

But the chauffer story contradicts this. Maybe someone was around him that he needed to impress :patrice:

Still I implore everyone to read this.

I honestly don't understand why we go about having these debates. ALL of these Cacs in power are/were racist pieces of shyt. If audio leaked tomorrow of JFK and his brother laughing and calling black people ******s it shouldn't surprise not one of you. Any and every one of these bills or laws that were passed by the great white fathers were political in nature and designed to only give a FRACTION of what the African American race was owed and needed to truly be on equal footing in this country.

The very FIRST quote in the OP

These Negroes, they're getting pretty uppity these days and that's a problem for us since they've got something now they never had before, the political pull to back up their uppityness. Now we've got to do something about this, we've got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference. For if we don't move at all, then their allies will line up against us and there'll be no way of stopping them, we'll lose the filibuster and there'll be no way of putting a brake on all sorts of wild legislation. It'll be Reconstruction all over agaIn"

That's IT in a nutshell. It's the very lifeblood of continued White Supremacy. This is how EVERY SINGLE White man or woman in a position of political power feels about the subject of the American negro. It's not a rumor, it's not hearsay, it's not a theory. It is FACT. Right there plain and clear as crystal,

:what: JFK did his best ignore a black folk problems during his presidency. He was too busy trying to appease the Reps buy going hard on comunism; they didnt like him cuz he was a real American (catholic irish). So he was not going to touch nikkas, not when the South Democrats were watching. It wasn't until brother Martin became a national figure that JFK became associated with CR, he dikk rode MLK but with words only "this is wrong guys..freedom..."

His brother Bobby was the one who was about that life. LBJ used JFKs death, among other things, to pass the CR bill..... He made JFK the man we "know". If JFK didn't get got the CR bill won't have passed and we would have went in Vietnam earlier.

JFK didn't give a fukk about us:pachaha:[/QUOTE

Howard zinn flesh that out in his book. JFK didn't give two fukks about black liberation either did Lincoln. In a rare moment, blacks merely benefit from a very strategic order, nothing else.
