i had to click it breh... they know exactly what they are doing with these type of titles

now reading the whole article, i can understand their point.. it'd be one thing if we studied what these garbs meant and why and when they are worn

but it seems like any nikka from brooklyn will get a bootleg dashiki and start rocking it, not knowing where it comes from or what it means

now is it equal to what white people are doing... hell motherfukking nah... but i feel the same way when i travel outside the country and see africans dressing like american nikkas in the 90s, using a fake accent to try and bag bytches (true stories)

But this ain't the type of world we live in, which is why you'll see Africans dressing and bagging women like they're AA's. Both sides will try to identify or play on the similarities with one another, that can't be helped.

But the confusion melts away when you understand the history behind AA's and A's and interpret them as being, not entirely different races but as two fruits of the same tree – even if AA's and A's aren't that similar either.

My point being, if it's any race in the world that's gonna fukk around with African culture, may as well be AA's because fukk the other ethnicities which have nothing to do with us. And don't even come at me with that "We're all African" BS :gucci:. Especially because I know for a fact that if I approach an AA telling him "Listen, this isn't how you dress/dance this, HE/SHE will actually listen and be insterested. As opposed to the other ethnicities who'll most likely listen not to be rude and just turn back around and be like "God that was so annoying!"

This was posted on LSA around the time it was published, where it was ripped apart thoroughly.

Her motivation for writing it was a bunch of pictures from an Afro punk concert. She's too stupid to realize that 1st and 2nd generation Africans actually attend Afro punk, so she assumed that the people in the pictures are African American.

And she's a bedwench for those who are curious to know.

Dumb article, but I wish we would stop calling ourselves Nubian, since Nubian is an actual ethnic group in Egypt and Sudan/
Funny enough some Minor minority of AA are able to trace their roots all the way back to Nubia because Nubians did travel too

Henry Louis Gates Jr of Harvard has Nubian ancestry according to a DNA test and when I look at him I'm like yeah I can see it.

Really? I didn't know that about Henry Jr, but like you said its only minor minority of AA who have Nubian ancestry most of us have roots from west and central Africa, so calling ourselves Nubian doesn't make sense.

The Author is not even African born, it's some UK born bedwench :mjlol:

Wow, ya'll stay finding deflections and distractions to avoid facing white supremacy 24/7,

the only people upset about appropriation are white people because they appropriate every fukking thing on the planet

Exactly. I don't even know why heads don't even question the source of this trash article.

I brought the spiritual head of Yoruba culture, the Ooni of Ife, to Brooklyn last year. He LOVES the fact that African Americans embrace Yoruba culture. If the GATEKEEPER of all things Yoruba loves it, why would anyone give a fukk about some twat from the UK thinks?

nikkas stay giving 2% of the fools a 50% seat at the table to spew their shyt views
