I think it being based on true events dragged it down a bit since the last couple of episodes were a bit underwhelming

The first episode was great, they could’ve actually had a really fun show had they followed Jimmy’s exploits as a “charismatic womanizing rebel drug dealer” which they showed at the start of the first episode

This was really well done. I didn't find the final episodes underwhelming; I found them to be realistic. We don't always get satisfying conclusions in life.
