Guess his MBA and didn't work for him. The same author that has a hire me in his Twitter profile. :russ::sas2:

Always find it funny how people that are scavenging for money always have something to say about the flaws of capitalism.

Also, the author is dead wrong, stop looking for the government to fix your problems. The author also quoted some study that said a myth to black wealth is education. That is the dumbest argument one can ever make "Ever"!

Government only purpose is to move from A to B. Without capitalism there is no excess of A to move towards B.

nikka I'm not reading all of that shyt. :gucci:

This paragraph covers everything, I think.

However theatrical, the episode broadcasts how years of compounded divestment have made the politics of black capitalism useless.

Battered by higher insurance prices, hammered by stingy investors, pummeled by exclusive supply chains, assaulted by recessions, thrashed by exclusionary regulators, pounded by an intergenerational wealth gap, a hobbled community of marginal black worker-entrepreneurs must compete with American monopolies and oligopolies like Amazon and Walmart, flush with cash and bolstered by lobbyists. The upshot is predictable. Because they are so wounded by the financial pressures that discrimination exerts, black businesses often can offer only fewer locations, higher prices, and fewer choices. Killer Mike’s consumerism flounders under the racialized reality that black communities have been pushed down for too long to pull themselves up by their bootstraps.

I Dont expect Black Capitilisim to be the Holy Grail that solves all our problems

Neither do I expect it to suppress the systematic racism we face everyday

But I' do believe being financially empowered will make life easier for ourselves and our kids..

I'm living proof of that... My life is much easier now that I've not only become a property owner but a self made business Man as well

I does alot for your self esteem

Which was what slot of black folks lack

Group economics is how you build strong communities. When we run the economic landscape, we put ourselves in positions to hire each other, and pass things down to our children. It also helps us vote people into local office that care about the community, and create a police force that knows there will be consequences for harming us without just cause.

The Miseducation Of The Negro is a must-read.

Why not? They literally created are problems or allowed them to fester.

Capitalism is trash, especially for those on the bottom class.

Wealth disparities are at an all time high in the U.S. due to unregulated capitalism.

So while the Koreans are becoming wealthy selling soul food in Harlem, exactly what economic
system should black folks practice?

Or, should we "pray" that the Koreans will hire us one day to fix their collard greens and Mac 'n Cheese?

Reparations aren’t going to come without lobbying. Lobbying isn’t going to come without more money. While it’s not the final solution, arguing against black group economics is irrational.

And close the thread /

One of the most straight forward and best posts I have ever seen on this entire site...thank you!

I think some of these cats are paid to shyt on black entrepreneurship. They never shyt on black folks working for cac corporations tho :mjpls: they damn near say that’s better than starting your own shyt.

Yes they are. Its funny how a black person on a white owned site can write controversial articles to get more viewers and clicks.....all to get more revenue......can then argue against economics to a group of people without a country of their own or resources of their own.

Do Asians, Hispanics and Whites write articles telling their people capitalism won't help them and that they should close up all their businesses? :mjpls: Or are these paid c00ns just promoting this anti-entrepreneurship mentality to Blacks? It's almost like they saying stop trying to become self-employed and just focus on asking for reparations even if you die before reparations come :sas2:

I was just about to write this.

So let's write in a white-owned liberal magazine that generates revenue on capitalistic principles, that black people ourselves shouldn't compete on capitalistic principles.

"Advertising accounts for 10% of total revenue for the magazine, while circulation totals 60%. The Nation has lost money in all but three or four years of operation and is sustained in part by a group of more than 30,000 donors called Nation Associates, who donate funds to the periodical above and beyond their annual subscription fees. This program accounts for 30% of the total revenue for the magazine. An annual cruise also generates $200,000 for the magazine.'"

Both sides have a point, both those seeking success within this capitalist system, as well as those calling for America to pay the debt it owes us. I hate that this article frames these two positions as mutually exclusive though, as if it's wrong to paper chase and trying to slick diss Jay, Mike, and even Nipsey. You can be a Black entrepreneur, investor, realtor, property owner, etc., and still argue for reparations and justice.
Exactly, you can walk and chew bubble gum simultaneously.
