Did you grow up listening to Country music?

It's the one genre that I've tried to get in and I really can't.

I don't know if it's because I'm a Brooklyn kid. But, next to my Hip-Hop collection, you will find NIN, Garbage, Fiona Apple, Smashing Pumpkins, and other genre's other than country

If anything I do like alt-country (like the True Blood song), but I'm not familiar with who's singing what.

Country music is very boring to me. I care about melodies, instrumentation, rhythm, voices etc before I'm even thinking about the lyrics. It doesn't matter how good the stories are because generally, imo, all those other elements are lacking in country msuic. To each his own though

My grandpa on my Mom's Dad who lived in Oklahoma used to listen to country music when he was alive but I didn't really like it too much when he would play it.But it's funny when I was in high school and Gta San Andreas came out I would listen to some of the stuff on that K-Rose radio station and I started to get into some of that classic country music such as Hank Williams, Conway Twitty and a few others. As far as modern country goes the only people I really have ever fukked with are Lady Antebellum, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, The Band Perry and for a brief period when I was in high school Taylor Swift.
