The only thing I hear when I hear blks claiming to be conservative is social conservatism. And even then blks at MOST are moderates.

I don't know of many blks who hate gays or have fukks to give about LGBTQ. Not wanting those lifestyles to encroach on normative family structures and gender identities which are already fragile in our race isn't hate.

Otherwise, what conservative policies would blacks identify with? What conservative judges and laws would blks get behind? Which have benefitted our community?

I hear people say blks are conservative but politically I can't get anybody to explain how any conservative values outside of social leanings fit our community.

Conservatism generally refers to right-wing politics which advocate the preservation of personal wealth and private ownership (Capitalism) and emphasize self-reliance and Individualism.

Its in your day to day life.
Do you value private policy when it comes to your personal data ? that’s being conservative. Being against or resistant to advertisements is being conservative.

im not a “true conservative”, the whole point is to say conservatism is a blanket term and a number of conservative values can be applied to blacks that are not specific to the alt right.

I mentioned the flipping of the parties after the civil rights act and the southern strategy because you came into the thread with this cacophonic gem

What makes people think that the average black person is conservative?

I mean outside of being more religious and in some cases more anti-homosexual, I can't think of any particular issues that make most blacks conservative.

Healthcare, unions, taxation, law enforcement oversight, mass-incarceration reform, environment, regulation, housing, etc.
