That cop looks bad. While I def think he showed more patience because he's also black, how do you let a potential suspect lock you in a room? How do you let him walk into a dark room instead of demanding him to turn all the lights on? How do you not secure the room. There could have been a gun on the floor, or someone hiding in the other room, etc.

Original call was about an animal in the house, cops get these sorts of calls all the time. They can't be jumpy/on guard 24/7

Cop had zero awareness and ain’t built to be a cop. The dude was showing so many red flags of the jump and the cop was still acting naive and goofy. The guy acting like the lights don’t work and trying to make the cop go in the room first should have had the cop fully on guard and treat dude like a criminal. Wellness checks for the most part are not supposed to be without a partner. Going into a house that has multiple confirmed people is wild irresponsible. Black cop must be a little dog at his police station.
