I think its illustrative of how some people do recognize that there is some serious divides in this country and they want to take some kind of action as they see fit to contribute towards mending it. Even if it's a simple gesture like leaving a tip with a note expressing genuine gratitude. Something I noticed with the situation involving the BLM activist who left a Trump supporter stranded on the side of the road during a snow storm, was the comments section was full of folks left unsettled. Like they were genuinely surprised that there are people on the opposite side of the political/social aisle of them who are willing to get just as unsympathetic and hostile as Trump's more colorful supporters have been. Frankly I think it scares the daylights out of some of them. As a result, some like the customer who left the tip, might want to express a measure of solidarity with those of differing political/social beliefs.

Didn't watch the video, but if all she did was serve him food how would he know all of this?

I mean shyt its nice that he left such a large tip. No debating that.

Though there is this level of condescension behind it and like I said, unless he talked to her in-depth, those are some pretty big assumptions to make about someone unless you're operating under strictly racial lenses.
