Politics tug away at people's reasoning especially when dealing with a polarizing figure. The dominican republic has a problem where every president is worse than the one before so it opens up the door for characters like him. But do remember when it was all said and done Trujillo killed a lot of Dominicans and there are a lot of dominicans who will flip out if it gets brought up. People haven't forgotten. After all it was dominicans who swiss cheesed Trujillo up. (The CIA gave the green light tho)
If I'm not mistaken the grandson was born in the United States. The dominican constitution would have to be amended for dude to be president and I'm not sure he has allies in the dominican government to do so. The support he is getting is coming from people like in that video and people in nyc wash heights etc.
Knowing how the D.R. operates I wouldn't be surprised if it was to happen. Trump is president here so.

Apparently, Dominicans are getting the same treatment from (whiter) Puerto Rican people when they migrate there. It’s interesting how that works lol. It’s concerning how they’re targeting dark skinned Dominicans and labelling them as Haitian. The white supremacy over there did a number on them. Didn’t they beg Spain to recolonise them at some point lol? I’m not surprised they support this dude, the passionate hatred for Haitians is pitiful and taught from one generation to the next . Many see themselves as Spanish but when they go to Spain, the US or a whiter Latin American country they get their wake up call.
