Im with the others in this thread too. There are plenty of black superheroes, side characters, villians etc that they could introduce and put on the screen without having to resort to these tactics.

It's not that they're blood its the fact that they're siblings and have shared experiences. You can have a step sister or step brother or surrogate brother and sister and be just as close to them or closer than blood relatives.I'm closer with my boys who I consider brothers than I am with plenty of people in my family who are blood relatives.

And when it comes to movies, it's on the actors to convey the relationship through acting and chemistry. Sue and Johnny were blood relatives in the first 2 and I never bought it because the acting wasn't strong enough.
