This is Mississippi. These are older men who are children and grandchildren of Sharecroppers- this is all they know.
MOST, did not get the opportunity to go past 6 grade (if that). This is their livelihood. They are too old to try to learn a new skill set.
Instead of saying good, we need to be applauding and supporting them - cause it's their families blood and sweat that has been keeping that industry going for generations- and now they want to cut them out and basically starve them out the only job that they know and can get.
They deserve the same and more than those immigrants being brought over to replace them.
Mississippi is a high-poverty due to the historical legacy of fukking over Black men and their families.
