This isn't talked about a lot, or it's purposely ignored. Black children who grow up in well off suburbs or affluent areas don't end up making much more income than black people from worse households in bad neighborhoods, on average. Despite having more/better resources, they often end up in low paying jobs and don't finish college. I've been asking myself why this is, for ages. And when I think back to my own childhood or look at how kids I know today are operating I think what we see in that rap video plays a role. Black kids in affluent areas end up surrounded by affluent white kids who consume a lot of rap, hood shyt, etc. It creates a dynamic where white kids expect black kids to act a certain way in order to truly be black. And that pressure of being expected to be tough, hood, down, etc leads to a lot of black kids adopting negative behaviors in order to become the cool guy. They start rehearsing shyt they know nothing about, in order to impress some corny white boy. Or make a white girl like them. This manifests itself in disruptive behavior in the classroom, disregard for academics, etc.
And it only gets worse as the kids get older. The white kid parties too much, does drugs too early, and gets into dumb shyt but still ends up in college and graduating. The black kid does the same shyt but doesn't end up in college, or doesn't finish if they do go. I'm mainly talking about white boys and black boys here, btw.
