They used to have the highest rates at one point. I have lost people close to me in this manner so I can appreciate this statistic now as it was a far cry from that many years ago. Ya'll can joke about it as I may have if it didnt hit so close to home.
I think the empowerment and glorification in the mainstream is helping keep women up and give them something to strive for. Seeing an Oprah, Beyonce, Michelle Obama to us may not mean shyt to us, but may be the difference between life and death for many.
