First off, the movie doesn't take place in your culture. If you are expecting them to all be wearing weave you will be disappointed
Secondly, Wakanda is a warrior nation. You can't really compare it to Atomic Blonde where she is a spy and using sexual subterfuge.
Now, your ideal movie for black women may be a black version of Atomic Blonde, and that's fine.:yeshrug:

But there are some of us (men and women) who want to see black women portrayed as equally capable warriors with the men without having to resort to "Sexy Ex Machina" to get out of situations (which is what happens in Atomic Blonde)

Equally capable women warriors? :heh:

Black women are dealing with enough delusions from white daddy. Let's not pile em on :whoa:

Interesting... This leads to two questions:

1 Why? What tangible benefits do you expect to gain from it?
2 Since simply saying "I need" accomplishes nothing, how do you plan to achieve this?

Imo she's projecting her own insecurities that she is not beautiful due to her skin color.
She also equates beauty with White stereotypes which is why she quoted Atomic Blonde as a beauty standard (despite the fact that Charlize Theron just looked old, not sexy imo)

She needs that white society to acknowledge that she too can be beautiful if she looks like them.

I think what annoys me the most is that her along with anyone else who is criticizing clearly dont know one iota about the source material. The women have a purpose and look the way they do for a reason. This is not Hollywood making these women masculine for some sterotypical racist agenda:stopitslime:. If anything they need to be mad at Stan Lee and Jack Kirby then.

You do realize this is a SuperHero movie right?:gucci:

Don't tell me you're one of those brehs who watches X-Men and says "How is Storm gonna be as strong as Bishop? She's a woman:stopitslime:"

They think it will lead to them being choose more or some shyt. That's what I think most people that speak on this care about on both sides. I know some just genuinely want to see someone that looks like them and I understand it but it's more than a few that just want to be saw as some sex object hoping it will transfer to them. For example look when some folks complain about some "mediocre" light skin or whites woman getting props they want props for being "mediocre" too and think this will help them. At least that's how it seems to me and this isn't just women on this vibe. Some men do it too but we don't pay them as much attention.
