Like I said before.
Let's be honest, a "Holiday" is just an excuse for Retail and Warehouse companies to make a bulk of their profits based on mindless consumerism

Labor Day Sale, Black Friday Sale, Christmas Day Sale, etc etc etc :mjlol:

Folks have wised up about buying left over tech at high prices. Those boycotts aren't helping either.

Not just that…. Some people either dont have the money or being that the job market is so unstable and insecure just not will to break bread and spend like that.

I mean all the hundreds of companies that cut thousands of jobs and all the people now unemployed.

Na…. Peeps ain’t gonna be out there spending like that

Consumers dont have a lot of buying power

Tariffs made shyt more expensive so sticker shick causing people to hold back on spending

Black Friday "deals" are terrible now

More shopping is done online than ever

Consumer confidence in the outlook on the job market and overall price of goods is low so more people are holding onto their money

Not looking good for going into next year at the moment.

Seems like at some point this should have some blow back to the people holding all the paper....but it never does.

I'm sure you could prolly pull up Black Friday posts here on The Coli from the past 10 years and see the same thing play out, just getting worse as time goes on.

Because the people at the top are rich due to assets within the stock market. The market itself is doing fine. This is the key thing to consider executives are not getting paid primarily in cash they are getting paid most of their money in stock. Wealthy people are dealing in assets not liquid currency. They dont feel anything as long as the markets are up over the long term. While consumers spending goes down companies are doing the most to keep their share prices up and stock valuations are based on sentiments within the market rather than primarily the net profit and/or debt to income ratio of the company

Yeah, but who owns the stock?
Who's buying the stock to keep the price high?

About 93% of U.S. households' stock market wealth is held by the top 10%.

It seems a bit circular doesn't it?

All it takes is some financial "misfeasance" from one of the big 7 tech companies and suddenly the "wealth" disappears...

Enron, World Com, Madoff made off with the money...

And online shopping been around for years as well too, idk if people were still not lining up for sales on Black Friday back then like they were now.

To get a more accurate view of the times now, you would need to see how things were last year compared to this one.

But yeah.. Tarriffs, economy, layoffs, and boycotts are probably still the major reasons why people are not buying shyt this year. Retailers can thank Trump…

I know I didn’t buy shyt because I didn’t need anything. Christmas might be like this as well
