so im puerto rican and hatian (not black at all!!!)

and my boyfriend is white and mexican but looks super white. my parents being mixed themselves and coming from a diverse background dont care who i date but his family i fear has a problem with us dating because i look "black". he has told me that his mom and dad have asked why he is dating a dark skin girl. they say they dont care they just want to know why. my boyfriend has told me tht his brother hates black people but he seemed nice to me. although he does joke about it i feel like sometimes he is serious. i dont understand what the problem is. im the first brown skin girl he has dated but there have been many that like him. what do i do?
