I wish this brother much success, because it's hard out here for a black man; trying to do positive things:to:

Stop shytting on these "soft" majors. If people didn't pursue them then there'd be intense competition for the STEM majors that are held in such high regard making it a employers market thereby depressing wages/salaries. Be grateful people are majoring in fields they actually want careers in. If they fail that's on them. No need to rub salt in the wound. You should really be attacking higher education as a whole. It's a broken system.

Sounds like someone's sour:umad:

Sound Reasoning
Did dude ever consider starting his own thing up? I mean, I understand wanting a "good job", but 300 jobs turned him down and he didn't at least think about another route?

I know someone will say "well, it's not that easy to start a company." Well, no one is saying dude needed to create the next Fortune 500 juggernaut. But dude could do freelance internet ads for local businesses or SEO if he knows how. Or even start up a marketing agency and contact local businesses to deliver personal advertising at public events. I mean, he could at least do that until he gets hired.

And none of those things would cost much since he would be using what I assume he already has-a computer and personality. And maybe a few hundred dollars to get any business license and/or business checking account opened.

One thing I can say for sure, is this economic downturn is really showing how few people really know how to hustle and put things together. Far removed of the days of people making their own way....people are very dependent on the idea of getting put on nowadays.

I work in corporate but I always believed in having more than one iron in the fire in terms of potential money makers. Especially as a black man....you can't depend on corporate for your well-being.

Peace

Go to college brehs

I'm proud of him, but the grind should never have to be this intense. He applied for 300 jobs?! He already spent 4 years preparing, plus he graduated with honors. I guess going to college doesn't bring success like people want you to believe.

Stats dont lie; college grads make quite a bit more money over a life time than those that dont get a degree

Anywho, I'm confident that you'll get to where you wanna be fellow Coli-profile. :salute:

Certainly my dude. However, no amount of personal success we'll give me satisfaction until the financial well-being and status of the average black person has been improved. i'm confident that i'll get to where i need to go, but once i do reach my destination i'm going to leave the door open. i hope some of you will follow me.
