in before fukk DR...

nevermind :russ:
This wasn't meant to be a slight at Dominicans. I've told you all many times that I have a lot of close friends who are Dominicans and despite what some of you may think there are many Dominicans living in Haiti and Haitians living in DR and they are cool. It's like here in the United States. There are parts that are black friendly and there are parts that aren't. Same for Haitians in the Dominican Republic.

I was saying this because having Dominican friends I witness how they are as a people. Not just my friends but other Dominicans they associate with which may or may not be prejudice against Haitians or blacks, period.

The only thing i laugh at is when the black ones think they are from a better brand of black than others. As if the spanish were importing some upgraded brand of african slaves on their half on the island. :russ:
They are the only black people that I've been around wo do this. Black Cubans and black Costa Ricans are mad cool and aren't on that shyt.

Oh... and black Panamanian women :blessed:

thats BS. blacks from everywhere in the world think they are different than american blacks. thats what grinds ya gears. even blacks from africa be on that :mjpls: wit blacks from here. ya single out dominicans cause of sammy sosa, like michael jackson didnt spend his whole life trying to become a white woman :heh:.

plus if you watch the documentary, u see that the dominican and haitian thing isnt a racial thing. its all because of trujillo. he was a racist dictator who wanted to whiten up the dominican race. he sent out travel brochures with only the whitest dominicans to make us seem like we were only white. it backfired on him because so many dominicans, even in his own family, were mixed. so he blamed it on the haitians and tried to rid the country of them going so far as to massacre them. after that the DR government came up with "indio oscuro" (dark indian) to describe dominicans who were black. they went so far as to put that on their government issued IDs, "indio oscuro". you had military going around looking for haitians and dominicans saying :whoa: i aint black im a dark indian, just to save their asses.

nowadays, the back country ignorant dominicans with no education past 3rd grade still live with this mentality which was passed down. but it isnt racial because NO dominican hates any other dominican because they are blacker. theres haitian prejudice because of border issues but even if haitians were white, they would still be like ":pacspit: get the fukk back on ur side we poor enough as it is over here".

At the beginning of mean streets
Stop focusing on Dominicans. :comeon: Growing up I had a lot of friends that were Afro-latino and not afraid to say it. A lot of my friends would say "I'm black but I speak the colonizer's language, English and Spanish" and that's basically what it is lol. We're a diaspora at the end of the day, got shipped off to different parts of the new world, but we still come from the same origins.

:salute: to all the pro-black Latinos.

No

Based on my experience it was mostly American Blacks who always acted as if they were better than the rest. But when other blacks started taking pride in their on cultures all the sudden Americans were like "oh so you think you better than us"type sh!t

I don't need no documentary to tell me about the Dominican republic and Trujillio doggy. I grew up in Haiti so i don't need a foreigner to tell em a own freakin history. I'm not one of them haitians who only became haitian after the "WYCLEF RENAISSANCE" when all the sudden mofos that used to hide are coming out the woods to claim they're haitian. :rudy:
While they were blasting Snoop Doggy Dogg walking to school I had Zin, Tabou Combo and Zèklè playing in my walkman walking to school.

As for the border issues it's been that way since Haiti's so called "invasion" of the Dominican Republic back in the mid 1800s. Ever since then there has always been propaganda that "them Haitians are out to kill us and take our land" shyt. Trujillio only used existing fears and prejudice to further push his agenda. He didn't create the hatred for Haitians. Only used it to his advantage.
