I don't really get how he's a hypocrite? He complains about himself being addicted to hoes, addicted to materialism, he talks bad about the excess consumption, but criticizes himself as a part of the problem.

Real hypocrites lift themselves out of the equation, from what I know.. Kanye incorporates himself in the equation.

There's multiple things I criticize Kanye about, being a hypocrite is not one of them.

Show me the quotes, where he's wrong.

"Some white girls and some Kelly Rowlands" and using the N-word doesn't cut it.
Or maybe one can try to score some points with the former, cause it says that Kanye separates people by their race. But if that's being a hypocrite, then everyone who's against racism that ever said anything about people's race, even in a positive manner, is a hypocrite.

I can ride with that...and while it's natural for human beings to contradict themselves, sometimes it's too direct.

I feel like there is a difference in being a complex individual and feeling this or that way from this or that time period, and just outright trying to play both sides of the fence without any thought process behind it.

Things change, you gain new perspectives, you have experiences that kinda tweak your views every day, so i don't fault him for being hypocritical as he transitions through whatever it is that he's learning from/dealing with. But it's kinda hard to rail against corporations when you nickname yourself after one of them.

Kanye looks like he's just doing this because it will turn heads...and he's good at that kind of shyt. The problem is this isn't some ole let me put on a skirt...or wear a racc00n tail out of the back of my jeans on some super mario 3 shyt...you are using people's lives to sell a record. the problem with this journalist's take on kanye is that he refuses to look at him as an artist, one who has an artistic license to push the envelope. he expects kanye to be this perfect and infallible man, despite the fact kanye himself admits to being a hypocrite and a highly flawed human being. yet, in spite of his admitted problems, kanye still -- and has done so since college dropout -- uses his popularity and the platform it affords him to drop very real and incisive commentary about life as a black man in america.
