I'm sure that all of these people have burned bridges with news entities they've left, and ALL of them would come back for a fraction of what lebron would make in cleveland. Whitlock for example tap danced his way right back to espn when they asked after they fired him for [in erroneous his eyes] calling out scoop jackson for bafoonery.

The NBA is entertainment. Gilbert's comments merely played into the story....the NBA is getting close to the WWE in terms of soap opera drama. The off the court happenings are covered more in depth than the actual regular season.
I guess this is the white explanation for it. To black folks, the "ownership" thing harkens back to the antebellum, and Gilbert's attitude reeked of that stench. And most of us are pretty sure that wasn't lost on Bron either.

Here's the part where comments section folks in that article and yourself proooooooobably do that thing that yall do because we feel that way and yall quite frankly don't get it. Thus...the response

...If he returns to Cleveland

I already hear rumblings from Mike Wilbon..

J.A. Andande's piece in ESPN.com yesterday

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/11194890/how-lebron-james-play-dan-gilbert

Freddie Coleman and Scoop Jackson's appearance on First Take this morning..Scoop even subliminally saying that Savannah is a bed wench c00nette for ever placing her husband in that position..

Could LeBron go from most hated by white people and c00ns in 2010? To most hated by Black intellectuals and real n1ggas in 2014?

If Lebron goes back to the Cavs obviously he knew Gilbert wasnt being totally serious. Its Vince Mcmahon, Steve Austin.

If you want to look at it with the antebellum dynamic that's fine...but there's no bigotry behind my angle. It's just the way most view entertainment now.

Dan Gilbert may or may not be a racist scumbag, honestly I have no idea (and I hate the guy as is, for "basketball reasons"). ..but in the vacuum of the specific context in which it happened, I had no problem with the letter :manny: ... If i was the owner of the cavs and bron left the way he did in 2010 I would've had been just as upset. . Now he definitely looks like a jackass for failing horribly in backing up the shyt he was talking (winning chips before bron, and now begging him to come back) and losing his cool, but I can actually understand where his anger could come from outside of "one of his niqqers had the audacity to leave the plantation"...bron knows dude more than me and imo they both did each other foul, assuming Gilbert ain't sterling I wouldn't think any less of bron for going back. ..Not for that reason anyway
