I don't like this trend of constantly finding little ways to shyt on folks today. Those kids had very heartwarming for me to see aspirations of being great in spite of what they faced. Please don't sit up here and talk shyt about the kids today and pointing to this as justification tho. You're speaking for your kids that you're raising and your kids alone.

OP family wasn't even here when those kids were talking but he got some dumb shyt to say about where we're at today.

Above the fray.
Ben Crump, and others have posted this before...and there is a different year/decade attached to the clip in every clip

Did a brief search trying to pinpoint the year and the full program this clip comes from. Will update when I find it.

The man that Mr Crump reposted it from is a Black brainwashed Trump supporter, so I can imagine that guy's spin on this clip. In modern era, a clip of 4 Black students answering questions about their aspirations will be spun (and believed) a million different ways. Most lacking proper context. It is what it is.

To be honest I'm surprised some of them didn't say they wanted to be a rockstar. Black people were dominating rock and roll at that time :ohhh:
Children had limited access to listening to recorded music back then, whatever the actual year this B&W footage was.

If they interviewed all the children in the entire school, maybe a handful would say a music related field . And even then, likely to be something they saw up close, like a church choir director or a music teacher.

Nope:

:mjcry: The last of our great people back then

Can just imagine what these kids would say now if ask that question.. rapper, football player, content creator

Look how much dignity and maturity they have. They were poor but they look better than kids today. Its not about the clothes and hairline, like people obsesses with. Theres an intangible it thats more rare in modern society today. I said it before, ut was written that the criminals back then even had more principles than the avg man today.

Folks jumped out the gate speaking in tropes to use that video to shyt on today's kids. You got a dude that family wasn't even here back then talking in goofyisms about the kids today. It's okay to talk shyt about the kids from today but when someone pipes up for them it's a problem?

Hell naw, speak for you and yours. You should be able to celebrate that clip without talking sideways about folks today. Foh. I could put together a video just like that one from the kids today too and I bet you'll have some goofies calling it staged.

They saw more black teachers, firemen, police, and doctors back then due to segregation. After segregation most black people were visually in sports and entertainment. I'm assuming here, could be wrong.

Only thing is they would only allow our ceiling to get so high back then.

Everything you had was yours, even if you felt your ice wasn't colder.....it was your ice.

This was almost like Esau trading his birthright for a bowl of soup in the old testament.

Yeah you just want to slander black kids today in peace and don't want folks to call you on it. Your people probably weren't even here when Jesse Jackson was running for President and you're talking about look at how much better the kids back then were then the kids today as a way to shyt on today's youth foh.

I didn't turn shyt into anything, I quoted your post where YOU decided you wanted to slander today's kids, unprompted, hours before I made my post. And now you're pretending I'm the one making the thread go left. Foh clown. If you didn't want your thread to go left, you shoulda just kept it positive and about the dreams of those babies in OP. But, you didnt.

Kids today seem to have some of the same hopes and dreams the ones in the video’s had.

My girl is taking a break from teaching, but she would have me come in and speak for career days, and we’d even do live feeds so I can take the kids on a virtual tour of my work place. She’s taught at majority black student schools, in two counties since I’ve known her.

They still respond with dentist, doctor, teacher, construction, police, etc. when asked what they want to be.

:hubie:
Tbh If anyone ever asked me what I wanted to be I used to just say whatever so they would leave me the fukk alone. I had no idea what the fukk I really wanted to do, I had interests but didn’t end up doing ANY of that shyt. That being said, I hope the kids in the op video were able to become who they wanted to be.

The boy at the end reminded me of Warren G. Even with the mannerisms.
