RIp Holocost! I didn't know him that well however. We met during the Supreme Clientele recordings at 36 chambers studio when I was recording my debut album. Ghost recorded during the day until evening, then the Black Knights would get a beat for that evening from RZA and the sessions would go on until the early hours. This is how I ended up on Woodchuck and the Clinton Sparks joint. Holocost was there every night, and they were staying at an apartment near Central Park where I'd go to hang out before we could head into the studio. Holocost seemed different then already. He was walking with a dragging leg, Beretta had told me he'd been hit by a bus in Tokyo where he'd holidayed by himself. 9th or someone then told me the story of the fight he had with him when he was stinking up the place cause at this time he was walking around with a parrot on his arm and the bird was shytting all over him. And then there was the story of Cost jumping out of an apartment window naked due to some bad angel dust (digi digi). I tend to believe that when they hung around RZA as Bobby Digital the angel dust damaged him badly, especially mentally. I then didn't hear from him in a long time, and when the first Killa Beez tour came up in 2002, I reached out to him, he picked up the phone, peace bruv it's Ringz, RINGZ! YO CHECK THIS! and he immediately pressed play on a track I had to listen to for 5 minutes. I literally didn't get a word in. When the song was finished I was like yo Cost check it, I got this tour- YO CHECK THIS ONE. And bam, he played another track. After three tracks I just hung up and haven't spoken to him since. I wanted him on the tour but alas. Priest had a funny story about him on my DVD. And I guess it's all funny, but at the same time, it's all quite sad cause the brother was talented and to hear he was declining mentally is a sad thing. I never actually knew he used my beats from a beat CD until they came out. We spoke about it once but I can;t recall the convo. All good though. Blessings to his loved ones, rest easy to the legend.
