The one drop rule isn't technically true. There is science which separates whites, blacks and mulattos. Blacks function the same as whites in terms of race meaning nothing but black can make black and nothing but white can make white. What you think socially is different than what the truth is genetically and physiologically.

Whether race exists is a subject of debate, but whether certain ethnic stuff can be identified, measured and classified is not. what you call the marker for different groups is up to you. you can call it "red" marker. you cannot change the marker or make it insignificant by calling it something else ("black", "green", etc)
