Honestly after seeing this I believe him more than the mother. Why? It's just hard to believe that a guy witnessed a mother with two young children begging and knocking at his door in a Hurricane, only for him to coldly turn them away and leave them to die. I don't see anyone doing that.

And his story sounds more believable only because I think if he were looking to make up a lie, he would have came up with something much better.

Why would he say that he saw a man at the bottom of his stairs throwing a flower pot at his door...and asking him to come out and help...when he could of easily just made up a story denying that he ever saw or heard anyone.

If he wanted to simply look completely innocent, his story wouldn't have come off as questionable like it does now...instead, it would be much more simple and easy to understand his POV.

How naive...

Why do you give the guy the benefit of the doubt that he's a smart and calm guy under pressure? Why do you assume that he would automatically do the right thing? You do know there are murderers, rapists, extreme racists etc. in the world, but you find it hard to believe some white dude didn't wanna risk helping some black woman and her kids in a crisis situation? Wow you have such a high opinion of that man, but find the black woman to be so suspicious.

The fact of the matter is the guy could have very well made that shyt up as he was being questioned, so it wouldn't sound so bad. Is every excuse you've given the most rational and well thought out course of action? Especially under such circumstances? I doubt it..
