This is what I mentioned a few days ago about the legal motions and tried to speak on but yet a few in here tried to argue me down.

The entirety of the footage still hasn’t been released, the cacs are every bit of blocking and using presumptive strikes to not disclose evidence and there’s been no progress. The Judge hasn’t allowed the release of the footage yet due to legal issues as I stated days ago - so all of this personal attacking did what? Did nothing but prove that you are an absolute liar by stating that “Roland has the footage and didn’t show it bc of a computer glitch”- misinformation leads to nothing.

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. - A judge on Wednesday rejected bids to have body camera footage of sheriff's deputies shooting Andrew Brown Jr. released to the public — but said the man's family would be allowed to view it.

Superior Court Judge Jeff Foster said turning over footage to news media could affect a potential trial of law enforcement officers who opened fire while serving a warrant on the 42-year-old Black man in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.

“The release at this time would create a serious threat to the fair, impartial and orderly administration of justice,” Foster ruled from the bench. “Confidentiality is necessary to protect either an active internal or criminal investigation or a potential internal or criminal investigation.

No, what’s disrespectful is the family attorney not being in a position to challenge the release of the police footage bc they are not licensed in North Carolina and weren’t prepared to challenge this motion to get the video out ASAP. You don’t have a JD, gtfo - I’m frustrated for the Family From a legal viewpoint bc this whole system is fukked- they’re having their rights obstructed period. Their legal representation is not a barred NC attorney but he should have been prepared to co- counsel with a NC atty to reduce any pushback on the video footage and file a complaint bc this is evidence tampering.

Not only that - but the attorneys that are not from NC can’t petition the judge to order release of the cam- why were the attorneys not prepared for this:

-A law in North Carolina, signed in 2016 by then-Governor Pat McCrory, prohibits law enforcement from releasing body camera footage without a judge’s consent.

The senator introduced a bill two weeks before the Brown incident that would require law enforcement to release body camera footage upon request after 48 hours. Agencies would be able to petition a judge if they had concerns about the release of the footage.
