There is a process for being discharged from the military and it doesn't happen in one day, especially for someone with rank just for saying the things he said on social media. I looked at other news outlets, like I said, he was fired from his position as a recruiter, he isn't kicked out of the military.

He's more then likely going to get an Article 15. A discharge for misconduct has a time period if that were going to happen and the article says there is an 'investigation.'. There is no article saying he has been discharged because that doesn't happen in 1 day. Do not speak on things you know not of concerning the military if you've never put on the uniform.

Yeah because he is armed forces and it’s social media I can’t say if this is allowed. The government firing him is 100% 1st amendment rights though. That is pretty clear cut. Even as an employer.

The Army just banned drill sergeants from using footage of people in basic training a few days ago. Seems like common sense, privacy and consent and whatever else. Those same people can turn right around next week and change that back to make it permissible, and claim it reasonably falls under Public Affairs/marketing to help boost recruitment. That's what good political leadership is for, to anticipate and get ahead of things...but the relics in charge now are way behind the curve on anything tech.

Which is exactly why the corporatists keep funding them and getting them re-elected. Or boosting religious zealots who would rather play their morality games than actually govern.

No one who ever enlisted would ever say that a CO can be discharged from the military in 1 day.

This can be resolved very easily. This is my veteran card and the last statement for my biweekly pension. I retired as an E8 back in 2018. If you enlisted post your veteran card like this.

Maybe it’s because I’m from a different generation but I value my privacy and it always amazes me how so many people, especially people in the military lack opsec skills. Yea I’m not even sure how this would work. Promotions in the military are based on off of your reports (OERs, NCOERs, fit reps etc) unless the SecDef says you will give this marine a bad report, which is another can of worms, I think the media misinterpreted what’s going on

you both are correct, but this brehs career is likely over. He will be fired from his position in recruiting (which is a serious blackeye on his career). Even more damning is he will have paperwork on him, which will significantly hurt his performance report , and thus be passed over for promotion (and unless he has a stellar combat record , no senior field grade or flag officer will stick their neck out for him). Once he’s passed over for promotion twice, he will be separated from the corps.
