It's worse for black men cos we can't hide a terrible hairline. Other folks can flop hair over half their hairline. We can't hide. If your hairline is falling back the whole world can see.

That's why nikkas get dreads AND a taper. Scared to damage the hairline.

white dudes can't rock baldies tho, so they don't have an escape hatch

also i wanna see evidence that people are going balder at younger ages. whole thread is predicated on hearsay

shyt is true. if you got a struggle hairline and you a nikka, you have no choice to rock a baldy. it's not that serious though. maintaining hair and having to go to the barber every two weeks is pretty :camby:to me

Real talk, back in the 80s and prior, most people didn't give a fukk about the hairlines. Look at the old episodes of The Fresh Prince and old black sitcoms. Look at the older pics of your uncles and father from 30 plus years ago. When did the artificially sharp hairline became a staple for black men, and why now more and more dudes going bald earlier?

@General Mills

A white girl at work asked me this and I legit didn't have an answer. First black culture question I've ever been stumped by.

I don't blame NOBODY but my mother and grandmother because they put jehri curls on my head at like 6yrs old . .6YRS OLD!!!! ...most men in my family still got natural fros and shyt ...my shyt was fukked by 25 and that is where i trace it back to ..because your hair matures with you, if you put chemicals in it at a very young age you have killed any shot at a long lasting hairline.....and plus they would let whomever could somewhat read instructions put it on...I remember just gobs of hair just burning off...and knowing that it can't be a good thing

Genetics play a large role too. You mustt have had a struggle hairline at some level for chemicals to wreak that much havoc. I used to think the same about my hairline but I sat down day and realized that I've had a shytty hairline all my life.

We seeing the first generation of dudes who have accelerated hair loss due to excess haircuts. The early 90s generation of dudes who were obsessed with a fresh hairline looking mad :old:
