One childhood friend, who had relocated to Atlanta after practicing medicine in New York, told us, “You can make a million dollars a year and live in the nicest house in Buckhead, but you’ll never be accepted by the old black elite in this town.”

“These people will stare you in the face after you’ve told them of your great accomplishments,” explained our friend, “and the only thing that will matter to them is who in your family went to Morehouse, and for how many generations your family has lived in Atlanta.”

:wow:

There’s always ‘levels’ to flexing.

nobody with money gives af about you clown ass boule.

Be mindful of the person calling you arrogant.

If the person is black and they're calling another black person arrogant, that indicates inferiority complex.

in the original thread that birthed this spinoff, they were calling highly educated black men conceited because they carry themselves a certain way. My question is, if these guys are arrogant/conceited, what do you call their white counterparts with the same level of education? :rudy:

They are white, they are supposed to believe they are smart. As a black man you are supposed to know they are fools who merely rigged a game.
Flexing what the white man gave you that you think is important is a fools past time,if you think that's what makes you important.
But its apart of youth and not knowing any better,in the end its harmless.
Other than the people you could upset,or look like a walking lick too.

also flexing and arrogance aren't things that people wear the same. So lets take it on a case by case basis.
I have a bias in thinking "educated" black men are Europeanized and assimilated, based on my own personal interactions.
But I'm always willing to be proven wrong, but typically more "education" just means more brainwashing:francis:

That billionaire Tyler Perry couldn’t get his studios in Atlanta without the “clown ass boule”.

Whatever makes you sleep better at night.

:duck:

The cac business class runs Atlanta. The boule are nothing but puppets to appease the negro masses.

There's a big difference between confidence and arrogance. I prefer to be highly confident in myself and my abilities and humble in my demeanor than to walk around arrogant and flashy, but to each his own.

There are too many folks around nowadays that ain't doing too well and there's gonna be even more coming soon, you gotta read the room. That flashy arrogant shyt can put a target on your back in the worst kind of way. Especially for successful black men because between friends family and folks we went to school with or group up with, we all tend to just be a couple degrees of separation away from some street shyt, if that. No need to give folks that are hungry or jealous someone to fixate on.

And I'll say one last thing, ultra-wealthy folks tend to be super lowkey. I know a girl through a friend who's family has big money and she's super low key. She only has like a hundred and something friends on Instagram, page is private. Very pretty girl, in shape, no thot rocket pictures and attention whoring on her page. Random former NBA players pop up in her comments. Married, has a kid, husband is connected, they have a multi-million dollar home, and they live their lowkey wealthy life out of the public eye. New money and people seeking ego validation tend to be the flashy and arrogant types, no disrespect.

To each his own though, as long as you're enjoying your life and not hurting anybody then do whatever the fukk you feel like doing.

Not in 2021, you being confident in yourself has probably dented someone's mental health, stop it or you will be cancelled :troll:

Shout out to @CorporateTrapper in reference to his post

How we all feel about this?

Me personally I find flexing to be corny. I think the "act like you been here before" attitude is some real motivational shyt ever. When you got so much paper and p*ssy that you don't even think highly of it like that is some cool shyt. Anyways let's have a discussion. Brehs can have disagreements and still be cordial...
I smell Beta male babble. You got nothin to flex so I can see why you might think it’s corny

some people feel as though confidence and happiness are finite and they only understand confidence and happiness in terms of how they relate to other people. They don't understand that the real shyt is from within and everybody can tap into it.

This!
My father taught me that confidence doesn’t come from others nor does it come at the expense of others.
Put an arrogant man in a room amongst confident men, he’ll quickly show you the difference.

King Behanzin always had his women with him... and his queens always carried the STRAP & his umbrella :wow:

Look at the queen with the shotgun and the skulls of his enemies in the background

My favorite king of all time, cause I'm Haitian and he went to war against the French Empire.

Kinda like you not being an official hood nikka and how you stay jockeying them? :ld:

A hood nikka is just a regular man in the hood. You're conflating it with a street nikka. Two different things.
