When it comes to mental health, we’re the ones told to “man up” and “snap out of it”. “Life is tough, get over it”.
I knew a cat who had a breakdown and his wife straight up told him that she couldn’t help him cause she had never seen a man go through something like that, like it was his fault. I think we’ve move out of the “just pray about it baby” phase as a people, but as men there’s no support.

I've only read about 10 pages of this thread, but one factor that hasn't been mentioned is verbal abuse of children. Kids who are constantly being berated by their parents and other authority figures in the household while growing up.
They enter adulthood very low self-esteem and no confidence to take on life's challenges. It's sad.

I'm no Christian but when there was a church life in the community, suicide rates were lower in much worse economic and political times.
Simple deduction here says abandoning God isn't good for the mind
You weren't meant to live like a European heathen and it's clearly effecting brothers in ways it never has before
because we are groomed to serve others (and not meeting those standards tend to result in being told you are worthless). Black men need to start living for themselves.
