The majority I talk to and know, were all born and raised in India. And even few I know raised here were heavily sheltered from their conservative parents and live in a tight knit community of their own kind.

It doesn't make much difference unless the girl was raised in a diverse community with less of their own kind around to interact. But most Indians are not about that life without living with fellow Hindu speakers.
