It’s a situational thing. The only real time I use a head nod is if I’m walking down a p-way and another black man is walking down the opposite way…

If we walk by and we nod and say wassup, that’s the whole interaction usually. As we eventually get to working around each other, maybe we become cool maybe we don’t.. idk, I can’t see the future and I don’t think to hard on it.

I never really worked around too many bw like that until recently. There wasn’t many in military IT when I was in it. And with Marines, hardly any at all. But there wasn’t many women period. If there was, it was white, latina, or Asian and I was more cool with the Latinas and Asian ones.

Now that it’s more contractors I’m around, I see them a lot more but I don’t go out my way to interact unless they directly work with me.

I let one borrow my whip for like 6 months because she had a lot going on. Moms passed, new kid, single, car got messed up, etc.

But we worked directly together so I trusted her enough. But shyt like this is what I mean by helping folks. If she was a bytch towards me, I wouldn’t had did a damn thing.
