Buckshot, 5FT and DJ Evil Dee recount how their classic rap album came together.

Black Moon, the iconic Brooklyn rap group, are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut album, 'Enta Da Stage,' on October 19. In a new documentary short, members of Black Moon -- with Buckshot, 5FT and DJ Evil Dee -- discuss their beginnings, how they met, early recording sessions for 'Enta Da Stage,' and how they came up with the album title.

To celebrate the occasion, the group will reunite on stage October 16 for the Duck Down x Javotti Media CMJ Showcase in Brooklyn, where they'll perform songs from 'Enta Da Stage,' backed by the band Phony Ppl. Also on the bill, which is looking pretty killer, are Talib Kweli, Sean Price, Smif N Wessun (reggae jam session), The Underachievers, and Red Bull Sound Select artists F.Stokes and Children of the Night, and more.

I love the whole album but my favorite joint has to be the title track. How Buck lays out all the tracks on the song from the album.

You can't beat that Onyx sample in the beginning either to set the tone lol

I also liked this song Jump Up from Black Moon that came in 99. Had same hook as enta da stage.

:stopitslime::camby: "I was always get the p*ssy cause I tell them that I'm Spanish":wow::steviej:

Well, it's the ill Caucasian, check the invasion
Bushwick to White Plains, the world in seven days and back
I'm down with the Black Smif-N-Wessun persuasion
Wanna flex next, swing one, that's all she wrote
Get the point to the joint, now you're bendin' for the soap
Like my bytch, fukk a bytch real quick, then I vanish
I always get the p*ssy cause I tell em that I'm Spanish
Chill, lay low, I'm throwin' headcracks in cec-lo
nikkas losin' dough so now they gots to bet a kilo
Mines for the takin', never fakin' when I kick it
Girls be on my jock, they want a taste so they lick it
Rip it from the back, bust a nut in her crack
Big Dru Ha puffin lye and I'm out, black

the real crime is how slept on the 2 subsequent albums are. particularly 'Total Eclipse'...that has one of the best Nottz beats ever on it IMO.

Black Moon has a perfect catalogue......That War Zone album was one of the best comebacks in Hip Hop.....I believe it was the dissapointment of the first Bootcamp album and Heltah Skeltah and Cocoa B's failed sophmore LP's that made people lose interest. That first Bootcamp album was hyped up to be a 97 summer banger along with Wu Tangs second and Puffys 1st and it failed.

I still say Joey Badass is a new version of Buckshot Shorty.

^^^^good post. yeah, the keyboard phase of BCC killed them in the public eye. that war zone album was too late given the sound in 1997. still, 'two turntables & a mic' is a testament to the Beatminerz genius as they mined a new feel from that played sample. shyt was almost airy.

we DO know that Justin Blaze was fan of the album. :mj:
