Why is the mother so desperate for her child to be in class with whites?

Because the white classes prolly get better treatment and resources ya big dummy

Blacks that have money don’t want to be around poor blacks. I would be money the classes at the schools are segregated based on income.

We’re the only group of people who get flack, even from our own for not wanting to be around poor people. It’s not like black people are moving from the hood to the trailer park.

I could also see it as an income situation too

I looked up the school and its 71% white and only 12% black
I would bet money that a lot of the black kids are lower income.
so they put all of them in the same class. The woman that is mad probably got money and is mad that her kid is in class with the poor kids,

2 teachers for all of the black students.
6 teachers for 6 classes of white students.

We're missing a lot of the story but I'd gather this has to do with why she wants her kid in white classes, access to multiple fields of specialty from teachers. Of which, the white students are only receiving.

When I was in school the worse person I deal with was a young black woman counselor everything she did hurt me, only the older black women counselor(my grandmother age) would help me.

Why would she do that? It’s one thing to have kids separated due to academic ability its another based race

all the smart kids in one class and all the L dome kids in the other
