Yeah, I don't have the cards to support 4k anyways. Maybe in 2 years I will try but in the current state of PC gaming and considering SLI support has been lacking lately, you need a beastly single GPU to support 4k @60+ fps and even then you will still probably need SLI. The guy in the OP could have went with SLI Titan X but I know most sponsored prebuilts come with 1080s these days. He could still replace it or even wait for the next line cards, the base PC he has will last a very long time.

Very true. As someone who has done the SLI dance many times, its just not worth it. And like you said, unless you're rocking a pascal Titan-X, yuou're not getting 60fps at 4k.
My problem is, after messing around with my 144hz for so long, 60fps doesn't cut it for me.

So I'm over here wanting a 4k 144hz, problem is.... no way i'm touching that without multi-GPU.
I'm just hoping DirectX-12 Multi-GPU mismatch scaling becomes more viable and more titles optimize for it.

So much is going on in the world of graphics and monitors right now... the best thing to do is wait and see how it all plays out

I hate playing around with single GPUs. You have to dump $500+ into 1 card and within a year or 2 you are already having to upgrade if you are looking to maintain 60+ on max settings because of the terrible optimization on PC ports these days. And yeah, making use of 144hz monitors would be hell.

Yeah, ports will make you lose hope, I honestly didn't expect Arkham Knight to turn out like that. Devs need to stop outsourcing their PC ports. At this point I only hope Star Citizen doesn't flop, it's all I really care about at the moment.
