the audio is weak. you cant hear anything except for explosion and jets flying by. the sounds that the guns makes is retarded in BF. for example:

when youre getting shot by someone, their gun changes into a silencer, but when they're not shooting at you, it sounds normal from tsk tsk to pap pap pap.

matches feels dead with little to no ai commentary/small talk. in blops2 you hear commentary every minute or less.

Call of Duty needs Dedicated Servers for Console (think Battlefield). Most of the lag/network issues would be gone if they went this route (PC version finally has Ranked Dedicated Servers)

Son Battlefield 3 has some of the best ambient sounds I've ever heard in a shooter. The freaking gun sounds are CRISP and piercing.

Matches feel dead?? Your out on a huge field so why would you be able to hear every little soldier yell?? Play on some closed in maps like Operation Metro or some CQC maps.

Man I don't even want to play COD BlOPS 2 no more and I was about to start it's story mode.

The online is progressively getting worse with each iteration. MW2 was flawless in that regard and the PS3 version of COD games have been atrocious. Dudes with good connections are now getting penalized. Since when has Treyarch ever been a good developer? They made COD games out of IW's scraps. Another thing is the map designs have been awful. Too many nooks and crannies for a game where's there's instant respawn. Those kind of maps work when you're playing a round based game.
