I hate the way people talk about BP2. Not because I think it was good, because it wasn't.
But people talk about it like the plan from everyone involved was to have the star of the franchise and 2nd phase of the MCU pass away so they could purposefully scramble to put together a bad movie as a way to personally insult the fan base.

The plan to keep t’challa or black panther sidelined is 100% on coogler and Disney though.
They think they’re being respectful toward Chadwick but they’re just harming the legacy of the character. Black panther isn’t Gwen Stacy, he doesn’t have have some canon death in the comics which is why it’s dumb to keep him Dead with the actor

Nah, they were also mostly mediocre after a few re-watches. It's just everything else leading up to it does so well with build up,.intrigue and obviously bonkers special effects (something Coogler could also learn to learn from Nolan) was mesmerizing that it blinds you how just very standard all the action actually is.
The greatest actual combat action of the movie, the obvious hallway gravity fight, while superb for its novelty, is still just decent outside of it. All the shoot out scenes were good because of the other sci-fi and/or cinematic spectacles going on in the background rather than just the gun action itself. Same thing with all the dark knight movies. And I say this as a big fan of both Nolan and all those movies.

Excited for this. I liked BP2. Thought it was a dope movie considering the shytty circumstances.
