Agreed.

White cat makes $150K in a corporate gig and his folks call him successful. A brother makes $150K and he gets called a corporate slave and criticized for not starting his own business.

Only in the black community do folks get critiqued for having a trade or corporate job. I know plenty Asian and Indian cats that don't feel that pressure at all, but we have to be superheros.

I would love to start my own business and plan on doing so. But in the black community, building an economic base working for others so that you can have a better foundation for your own business is frowned upon. You've got to quit your job today and employ 150 brothers and sisters or you are part of the problem.

Black people are held to a higher standard . We are expected to be perfect in society. If we fall short of anything but perfect behavior, we are punished to the maximum extent. We aren't given passes and leeway like other groups are given.

We are held to standards that other groups don't even hold themselves to. :jbhmm:

Black people are criticized for having nice things
We are critiqued and criticized for any and everything:snoop:

If we fall anywhere short of perfection, we can be harmed and mistreated and it will somehow be justified :jbhmm:

We are told:

"If you just pull your pants up and respect yourself you won't get harassed by police"

But other groups aren't judged and treated as harsh for doin the same thing :jbhmm:

Other groups are on welfare, section 8, but for some reason black people wear the badge for public assistance :jbhmm:

I could go on, but you get the point. Black people are held to the highest standard and this can't even be debated :sas2:

I wouldnt necessarily say we're held to a higher standard but we're definitely held to and judged by a different standard then others, we seem to be pre judged on white supremacist stereotypes so when people justify our mistreatment they're really saying" black people are who we thought they were and diserve to be treated the way they are" all based off lies and stereotypes.

I agree 100% with this. I noticed that as soon as I graduated and got a job that it feels like all eyes are on me. As much as I'm a hard worker and good at what I do, I've noticed that I'm not held to the same standard as the other younger people in our department.

There's one guy who's my age and he spends the whole day doing nothing but watching YouTube videos at his desk. People notice but don't say anything to him but let me look like I'm not busy and I've got 101 things suddenly dropped on my lap.

Being young and black in a corporate environment is frustrating. Especially if you're good at what you do and ambitious.

If anything, getting a corporate job is promoted more than starting a business within black families :skip:

C'mon fam, you see dudes all the time on here shi**ing on corporate dudes, basically negating everything they've accomplished because it's working for somebody else. I don't have names but it's happened.

Cats be on that tip in the real world, too. We expected to all be hustling savants and mega-entrepreneurs.

Since you see dudes doing it all the time, names names breh. If it's that wide spread you should be able to find at least one person to prove your point :jbhmm:
