Survivorship bias as well before anybody wants to start criticizing people.

Maybe many people may already have jobs they like? If I got a college degree and got a good job, why would I attend that call?

Additionally, people want to see results. Are those calls actually resulting in significant progress?

They probably are beneficial, but that'll be different for everybody.

If those calls are 2-3 hours per month and you're trying to break into something like software then that's 24-36 hours per year where you can spend learning and skill-building something directly instead. That's a significant time of learning on something directly vs spending that time on something that can "kinda be" beneficial.

That's a full college course someone could be spending on a specific skill, which will translate to any job.

A lot of times people who attend these kinds of meetings are actually doing so to avoid the actual difficult part. It's easy to show up and do nothing. It's like people who constantly watch videos on "how to study" vs people who actually go to study. The latter group will always win unless the former group actually gets good info and starts applying what they learned and starts acting like the latter group.

Word breh. The world is ruled by Capitalism and has been since 1602. I think Black people are too caught up in "How the world should be" vs "How the world actually operates"
We are ruled too much by what what is comfortable and enjoy, instead of what is necessary for an Economically autonomous community

- You think Indians ENJOY opening up 7-11s and working 60-70 hours a week to build their community?
- You think the Chinese ENJOY opening up Chinese Restaurants working 60-70 hours a week to build their community?
- You think Mexicans ENJOY opening up Landscaping and Bricklaying companies working 60-70 hours a week to build their community?
- You think Arabs ENJOY opening up Gas stations and Food Trucks working 60-70 hours a week to build their community?

We really are very comfortable with our current position

Honestly, being on a Zoom call regularly with 40-80 people and a billionaire is probably not moving any needles unless those 40-80 people and billionaire are all in the same field. You're not curating any kind of real relationship in a call where 400 people are invited to with a billionaire unless you're already in motion on your own and they seem some kind of benefit you'd offer them for their time. Some of y'all looking at this as some kind of amazing opportunity don't know what those look like to shyt on these brehs like that. How many of those 40-80 Zoom call participants are making 6 figure jobs because of their weekly talks with Robert Smith?
They also take for granted the zoom actually works properly :mjlol:

shyt never starts on time. Always audio and video problems

You really lucky to even get on half the time. The admin won't be able to let you in. You gotta login on the app. That doesn't work so you try the browser. But that doesn't work either so you start over with the app. Restart your phone/computer
Bullshyt ass zoom :gucci:

The guy in the Op is misleading. Robert Smith held that zoom call for people who were interested in Private equity. That was also at the same time he was going to start recruiting at Morehouse for Vista. It maybe only 80 because maybe only 80 were interested in Private equity.

For example the Valedictorian Jarvis Mays ended up at UPenn medical school. Why would he be at a private equity event?

I don’t like where that guy in the op is going

Thanks for the context on this.

At the end of the day, what answers could he give those students that they couldn't research on their own? If he was offering job or other opportunities then you would have a point, but just asking questions on a call isn't much of an opportunity to be knocking these kids as lazy or don't want work type ish is bullshyt
