I can easily say DBZ isn't the most influential anime in the world, due to financial success globally.
One Piece is, so how do you want to classify this?

People were watching DBZ in a anime block, do you understand that? DBZ , Tenchi Muyo 1 hr block after school on toonami. lol
DBZ wasn't shown in a vacuum, hell DBZ and Big O would run back to back.
Hell what do you think Voltron ? You should understand that the folks who got DBZ poppin culturally in the US, grew up watching Voltron or/and Macross aka Robotech.
SMH, we wont even get into Gundam Wing and Sailor Moon, which were hugely popular.

Only hard-core anime fans know wtf Tenchi Muyo or Big O is (which was cancelled after two seasons btw). Im not saying anime started or began with DBZ. Im saying it hit the ground running when it got to the west the way others before it hadn't. You can't accept both things are true, these properties were important for opening the door, but it did not have the level of massive impact of getting people invested in the genre the way DBZ did.
You can make an argument for One Piece yes, but if you're talking about the west specifically, it didn't become truly popular here until the 2010s. It was the least popular of the Big 3 until recent years.
No they wouldn't because it was literally on the most watch block of television for young boys especially in the late 90s and early 2000s.Bruh

It was literally on repeat for 2 years as it slowly spread by word of mouth and got more and more popular.
You are trying to talk about an era and time, you weren't alive and it falls short.
Like I said, Gundam Wing and Sailor Moon could be described as equally big, easpecially Sailor Moon. That is when USA Network had the animation block before Toonami.

Anime arrived in Mexico before the US. Saint Seiya and DBZ were huge before we got it

If you want a measurable metric you can just look at volume sales and it isn't even close. First of all, RDC World anime fans are not the same as the weirdo blerds who worship the LGBT community.
There are plenty of regular black kids and younger peeps who like anime. This is the MAJORITY of RDC world's fan base. But the "blerds" you see on tik tok absolutely worship queer as fukk shyt and are just weirdos.

IDC how to feel about this. Yes conventions are traditionally nerd shyt but only by the makeup of interested participants. RDC's whole brand is blackifying anime fandom. these type of inroads is actually proof of their success on that front. This is coming from someone that detests the streaming clout chaser culture.
Like it's weird to frame this as some type of sellout action when nikkas have been selling the entire time lol, this shyt was made to be sold to mainstream black culture. Though I do understand the early adopter types being disappointed to see this start to devolve into freaknik/hood club/spring break type of energy because they likely sought out the convention scene because they already felt they didn't fit into the type of scenes/energy thats now following them into the cons.
Plus streamers, socialites and nikkas being extra get to be like big fish jumping into in a smaller pond because of the "omg what is sauce walka doing at an anime convention
" dynamic of celebs using casual anime fandom to score brownie points. Plus the nikkas trying to be extra macho flexing for hoes because they perceive themselves in a room full of nerds rather than a club or spring break where they'll be in competition with bigger fish.
