I get what op is saying to an extent, but lol @ him bringing up Seinfield. That show is not that complicated breh.:obama2: I think the 90s and early 2000s had a great balance of what you're talking about when it came to TV shows and movies. Like Chappelle Show. I rate that shyt higher than Seinfield. I think My Wife and Kids also had a pretty good balance of "sarcasm" and smart comedy. I might get shytted on for this, but Girlfriends was a pretty much out of the box(and yes, I know it was created by Chelsea Grammar, bite me). fukk it, Don't be a Menace (Scary Movie to an extend) was pretty much a catalyst to all these spoofs that have been dumb down, but that flick had alot of subtle comedy scenes that touched on some real shyt.

It would be cool if we black people had our own secretive international cabal with the expressed goal of world domination, denouncing religion, not putting too much trust/faith in government, promoting art (classical music and renaissance paintings not ignorant rap music and modern cinema), and promoting science (nanotechnology, nuclear fusion, stem cell research, transhumanism, etc.). If I were to start such a group it would be damn near impossible to find members since today's black people are too clingy to religion (don't you think worshipping a white guy is weird? oh and atheism is equally bad imo) and have way too much faith in government (obamatards who champion socialistic ideas and the rapid expansion of government).

I see so many of our youth with their minds poisoned by mainstream media. They're too busy living 'in the moment' and living life with extreme shortsightedness. No one is concern with longevity. Just plastering their bodies with obnoxious tattoos and engaging in excessive partying to escape a life of misery. I on the other hand want to live forever. When I die I don't want a bullshyt traditional funeral, but instead, have my body frozen and preserved. You guys should look into cryonics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryonics and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryopreservation). Hopefully I will be revived in 3145 and be balls deep in some Brazilian dimes and alien clones of Nick Minaj.

In all seriousness, to end this thread real quick you have some valid point but you need to understand this is a white nation, for whites and to be controlled by whites. Whites have used capitalism and the justice system to stay in power. We as a people are a minority, but we make up the majority of prison populations, you think that is not by design? Why do you think black man X gets 15 years for a gram of crack, but white man Y gets probation for flying kilos of cocaine into the country.


As for Tyler Perry and the media, every race has it's 'blackface' shows, it's just that we as black people only have so many outlets on tv that it's easier to focus on our faults. I hate Perry as much as everyone else, but he made it into their club, and he's not trying to leave so I can't blame him for his basic formula that keeps selling. And who knows, he might have some grand scheme that when he has even juice and clout he could switch it up and really benefit blacks in the media, who knows?



The last thing I'll say about this is I believe there is a difference between 'getting ahead' and catering to the white man. Look, I am college educated and I speak with proper grammar. BUT, I have a black voice and I do not change it when I'm in a white setting. Whites have been the majority for so long that their diction and the pitch of their voice has been conditioned into us to be associated with speaking correctly, and that's not the case. You're telling me I don't want to get ahead because I don't want to abandon my natural African-American traits? Of course I want to get ahead in this life, but I don't believe that I need to develop 'white' traits to do so.




I'll leave y'all with this story to give you some food for thought for this Sunday morning. Back in high school whenever I didn't have a haircut (or was wolfin my waves ) I'd come to school with a du-rag on. Now, all the white girls at my school would wear all sorts of headbands, wraps, bandanas all that with no problem, but whenever I would wear my du-rag I would be immediately called the principals office to take it off. I would always explain that it's nothing more than a hair accessory, just like the white girls with their headbands. To this day I will never forget, but his answer to me every time was "We don't view it as a hair accessory, so it's not". Just because it was foreign to them, or wasn't of 'white' use, it was unacceptable. They always threatened me with suspension until I took it off. Do y'all understand that? They were prepared to take away my education because it was a black concept they didn't understand!

The moral of that story, even though it was on a small scale, is that while we do continue to bring ourselves down, it is very hard as a minority people to get ahead in a world that's not designed for you.
