The other is for fully black, or for people who check just black on the census and nothing else

The latter is black people's true census. The former is basically all the weirdo half and mixed breeds in LA.

Or simply African/Islanders are increasing. I notice they tend to select multiple races as a synonym for ethnicity on identification forms.

This is unlikely. I'm an Islander and I choose black. The bulk of black islanders would also do the same, as they do in Canada. Africans would also check off black most of the time.

The unmixed black population in NYC has been noticeably declining for a decade now as blacks are priced out of Manhatten and hoods become gentrification. This results in more mixed unions and fewer blacks overall, same as in LA and California.

And even Caribbean immigration is slowing down a lot...soon Africans will be the largest black immigrant group

Happens all the time....check any social media site. Not odd to see "mixed" or "other" checked. Simply the result of ethnicity and race being confused.

There aren't even enough biracial Black people in America for those numbers to be true but we do know the NYC Caribbean/African populations are booming so it seems more logical..

I'm fairly sure you're off base with this assunptiin.The bulk of people who claim mixed on dating sites are African American, not African or Caribbean.

Furthermore, NYC is full of dudes and women who date out. The biracial and mixed population in the USA is one of the fastest growing. I remember one poster on the Coli saying that LA is full of mixed people, not blacks.

I wouldn't be surprised if NYC is going in the same direction.

I can say for fact California has at least ten million people with black in them here. California a minority state. those stats are census. Black folks are heavy in California.
